Sweetness: This is lightly sweetened dark chocolate with its own unique personality and flavor profile. It doesn't taste like milk chocolate or traditional sugar chocolate/candy.
Stevia: You do need to be used to stevia (sometimes it's an acquired taste) to enjoy our chocolate since it is the only sweetener we use across our full range of flavors. The stevia extract used is the best tasting we've been able to find and we use it every day in our own lives as a sugar substitute (in tea, yogurt, smoothies etc).
Texture: Rich and smooth. Some of our chocolates use organic coconut oil making them melt in your mouth quicker.
Everyone has a different sense of taste so we can't guarantee you'll like our chocolate but we sure hope you do! We have a mini sampler pack with free shipping that can help you make sure you like the flavor before placing a large order.
We use a high quality, pure stevia extract that contains absolutely no fillers. It's one of the few pure stevia extracts we've found that has the sweetest taste with the least amount of bitterness.
No, with the exception of some flavors.
Unless specified, all of our flavors use lightly roasted chocolate because we've found it to have the best flavor profile.
The flavors you'll see that are similar to a "raw" chocolate are the ones that have "unroasted" in the name.
Our cacao beans are sourced from a small handful of organic farms that rotate depending on the season, primarily located in the Dominican Republic and Peru. All of the farms we source from have ethical working conditions with Certified Organic status.
Our free shipping option for orders of $99+ is only available with USPS Priority Mail. USPS is the most affordable shipping, however if you need UPS, we also offer that at checkout.
Yes! However you must be able to receive your chocolate immediately from the carrier so it does not sit outside for any length of time. Also, when you order during the summer you are accepting there is a melt risk. We do our best by deep freezing your order, using an insulated box liner, and including cold packs. If you want to be really sure it's not going to melt, choose UPS Overnight at checkout.
We are a peanut-free facility, however we do use tree nuts in some of our recipes, so there may be cross contamination of tree nuts.
We ship all orders from beautiful Eugene, Oregon, USA. It's located in central-west Oregon, about an hour and a half from the Pacific Ocean (have you checked out Yachats yet?)
At this time we do not have a public storefront, so ordering our chocolate via our website is the only way to purchase it. We are also carried in a handful of natural foods stores and food co-ops, mostly in the Pacific Northwest.
Right now our focus is on our online store. It's hard to make wholesale sustainable unless you have a big factory or you're outsourcing the production of the food.
Pure Love Chocolate can only be found in a small handful of natural foods stores in the Pacific Northwest. If you'd like to find out if there's a store in your area, just use the chat and we'll get back to you.
We are also open to your suggestions if there's an independently owned store in your area you think would be a good fit for our products. We're not interested in working with chains or corporate stores because well, that just seems like too much stress!
Yes! We are happy to take your order by phone if you have trouble using websites for any reason. Feel free to call or text us at 541-234-5760 and leave your name and number, and a good time to reach you. We have limited capacity to answer calls as they come in, but we are pretty quick to return your call.
